  1944 Lucius Day Newspaper Photo Navy Pilot at Home on Leave Former Commercial Flier Visits Mother Lt. Lucius B. Day, Navy flier, arrived in San Bernardino unexpectedly this eek for a surprise visit, his first in seven years, with his mother, Mrs. Clara Day, who resides at a San Bernardino hotel. Lieutenant Day, an experienced commercial pilot before the war in San Antonio, Texas, enter the Navy shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack. He has been instructing at Pensacola, Fla., and is reporting to San Francisco for a new assignment. The officer's family expect to move to California form Orlando, Fla. His mother is a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine in San Bernardino.
