      Ft. McCoy - Laura May Blackhurst Baker Brelick, 91, of Fort McCoy, FL, formerly from Midland, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the Meadowbrook Nursing Facility in Bellaire, MI on August 26, 2012.
      She was born May 7, 1921 in Midland, MI, daughter of Edward and Cora (Lantz) Blackhurst. Laura married Gareld (Jerry) Baker in 1945. They resided in Midland, MI. He proceeded her in death on April 20, 1976. After Jerry's death, Laura moved to Florida, where she met and married Michael Brelick. He died on June 29, 2006. Laura is survived by daughter, Barbara (Charlie) Guntermann of Fort McCoy, FL, daughter, Connie Kobel of Bellaire, MI, and son Dennis (Betty) Baker of Tyler, TX, sister, Ruth Berryhill of Big Rapids, MI, sisters-in-law, Christine Baker of McHenry, IL, Ethel (Baker) Grover of McMinnville, TN, and Mildred (Baker) Skinner of Zeeland, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Laura leaves her precious grandchildren, Kimberly Lane, Orlando, FL, Charles Guntermann III, Fort McCoy, FL, Curtis Guntermann, Orlando, FL, Jeff (Trisha Engler) Baker, Orlando, FL, Cathy (Ryan) Valeriano, Orlando, FL, Stephanie (Jason) Castlebury, Longview, TX, Todd (Cathy) Kobel, St. Clair Shores, MI, Kelly (Rob) Bailey, Bellaire, MI, 15 great-grandchildren that she loved very much, and six very special great-great-grandchildren. She was a very precious and caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed dearly. Laura grew up in Midland, MI and was an active member of the United Methodist Church. She was a leader in 4-H and the PTA when her children were young. After moving to Florida, she joined the United Methodist Church of Lady Lake and Fort McCoy, FL, where she was very active and the leader of various clubs within her church. She loved to travel, working on her many craft projects and loved to read, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Services will be held noon on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Midland Memorial Gardens in Midland, MI with viewing prior to the service.
