  from "The Osceola Sentinel", 11 Mar 1920 (osceola.advantage-preservation.com Clara E. Wetzel was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania, February 16, 1850 and died at her home in Clarke County, March 4, 1920 at the age of 70 years and 17 days. She came with her parents to Iowa in the year 1856, settling in Des Moines County. Then came to Clarke county in April 1866, where she lived until her death. She was united in marriage to J.F. Knatts in 1870. To this union two children were born, Franklin and Freddie. Her husband preceded her in death in 1873. She was united in marriage to Charles F. Woods in August 1875. To this union five children were born, one daughter, and four sons. She was a kind loving wife and mother, a fried to everyone, no sacrifice being too great for her to make for the comfort of others. She leaves to mourn her death a loving husband and five sons Freddie of Des Moines, Vernon, Harry, Lloyd and True of Clarke county, her daughter Jessie of Almyra, Arkansas died in April 1917. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. A.C. Milliner of Spokane, Washington, on e brother C.H. Wetzel of Clarke County, also 20 grand children beside a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted at Union M P Church, S.E. Cole officiating
