Wood & Mary J. Barnes. from "The Los Angeles Times", 2 Nov 1951 (newspapers.com) EAST LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 - E.P. Woods, 75, retired Justice of the Peach and "Grand Old Man" of this community, died yesterday at his home, 919 S Woods Ave. He took office in the East Los Angeles Justice Court in 1927 and retired last December. The judge was a member of the Lions Club, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Past Master of Gardens Logde F&AM, was Past Chancellor of the Knights of Pythias. For four years he was president of the Greater East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and was a charter member of the East Los Angeles Breakfast Club and Forum Club. One of his hobbies was the Boys' Club. The newboys of this area were members and the judge guided and advised them. He leaves his widow Josephine. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Four Square Gaspel Church, 4800 Olympic Blvd. from "The Honesdale Citizen", 28 Oct 1908 (newspapers.com) C.W. Teed, of Walton, and his daughter, Mrs. Edward Payson Woods, with her daughter, of Los Angeles, Cal., paid a visit last week to Mrs. Teed's mother and sister, in Equinunk.
