  from "The San Jose Mercury News", 7 Apr 1917, page 12 Benjamin F Richards Passed Away Friday Benjamin F Richards, brother of Mrs. E Thomas of Madrone, Mrs. M Maurer, Mrs. D. J. Brewer and Albert Richards of this city, passed away yesterday afternoon. Mr. Richards was a member of San Jose lodge, No. 10, F. A. M., under whose auspices the funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the chapel of the San Jose Undertaking company, 276 South Second street. The interment will take place at Oak Hill cemetery.
