  from "The early genealogies of the Cole families in America (including Coles and Cowles)" by Frank Theodore Cole, 1887 MARTIN COLE. Born in Westmoreland, November 23, 1781; died in Mr. Holly, Vermont, April 6, 1866. He married May 12, 1803, Sally Baker, of Westmoreland, who died in 1863. Soon after his marriage he moved to Mt. Holly, Vermont, where he spent the rest of his days, a quiet citizen, a good neighbor, and a kind and considerate man. He was a deacon in the church for many years. The only child of Deacon Martin and Sally (Baker) Cole was: i. Larkin Baker, b. April 10, 1804; d. in Louisville, Ky., in January, 1856.
