  from The North Tonawanda Evening News, May 1, 1912 (fultonhistory.com) The death of Daniel VanBrocklin, aged 73 years of Middleport, occurred at his home Sunday morning of heart disease. The decease was for many years a prominent hardware merchant in that village, retiring about fifteen years ago from active business. The funeral will be held Wednesday, under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, at 2 o'clock. He is survived by a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Dewhirst of Middleport and Mrs. George Nash of Lockport, and one son William of Middleport.
