  from "The Vancouver Daily World", 6 Nov 1888 (newspapers.com) Mr. Watson Welding, farner, Yarmouth, Out., on Saturday the 27th ult., received a telegram that his son, Byron Welding, had died and had been buried at Watkin, Washington Territory. His brother, Mr. Howard Welding, left for Watkin on Thursday last. The deceased left St. Thomas with 5,000 a few years ago, and invested it at Vancouver where he lost everything by the fire two years ago.
