  from "Vital records of Salem, Massachusetts to the end of the year 1849" (archive.org) Henry Perkins, s. David and Hannah (Fabens), was born Nov. 15, 1803. PR423 from "The family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Massachusetts" Henry (David, Francis, Jacob, Isaac, John, John) was born in Salem, Mass., Nov. 15, 1803. He married Cornelia Adeline Allen, Oct. 8, 1835. She was the daughter of Joshua and Ann (Moore) Allen, and was born in Philadelphia, Aug, 27, 1812. He passed his early life as a clerk in the store of his brother, Benjamin, in Hanover, N.H. He was afterwards, for a few years, in Utica, N.Y., and in the drug business in New York City, in which interest he made a voyage to Cartagena. The larger part of his active life has been spent in the city of Philadelphia; at first in the book trade, and subsequently as treasurer of the American Bank Note Company, and as agent of the American Sunday School Union. For many years past he has taken a deep and active interest in the management of the "House of Refuge," a reformatory institution in Philadelphia, acting on its board of management, and as its treasurer.
