      SAN MATEO - Archibald Hamilton of 924.5 S. Eldorado ST., who had spent most of his lifetime building and inspecting roads in San Mateo County, died yesterday in Millbrae Sanitarium after a long illness. He was 72. Mr. Hamilton had been a street inspector fpr the city of San Mateo for several years. Previously he was an inspector for the Hillsborough Street Department, the Burlingame Steet Department and the County Road Department. His wife, Mrs. Lena Hamilton, preceded him in death. He leaves three brothers, John T. Hamilton of Burlingame, Thomas James Hamilton of Redwood City and George Hamilton of San Mateo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the chapel of Crosby-N. Gray & Company, Burlingame. Interment will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma.
