Concluding an outstanding college career in the United States, Mr. Wilson Chung, son of Mr. Edward Chung (president of the Chinese retailers Association) and Mrs. Chung, of St. Andrew, returned to the island last Thursday. He has been studying architecture at Notre Dame and Illinois Universities. Mr. Chung has gained a distinction in his chosen profession. In 1946 he entered an international competition in Church Architecture among graduates of the Colleges, and his drawing was adjudged as being amongst the first twelve. He executed a drawing of a nursery school for the University of Illinois Art Exhibition, also in 1946, which has been accepted by the college, while in 1945, a drawing of his was accepted by the Beaux Art School of New York. Mr. Chung graduated last year, but his present plans so far as his stay in Jamaica is concerned are indefinite, and he might return to America for a postgraduate course under Frank Lloyd Wright, world-famous architect of Wisconsin, U.S.A.
