  Notes	from "The Waterford Gazette (Waterford, NY), 22 Sept 1807 (genealogybank.com) By virtue of an execution, issued out of the the supreme court of judicature of the state of New York, to me directed and delivered, I have seived and taken all the real and personal property of Jared Palmer, Nicholas Palmer and Jesse Palmer, situate in the town of Northumberland, whose right and title of, on to the same, I shall expose to sale, at public vendue, on the 29th October next, at 2 o'clock p.m. on the premises. Dated 14th September, 1807. Asabel Porter, sheriff. ... from "The Saratoga Sentinel", 1 Aug 1821 (genealogybank.com) By virtue of an execution, to me directed and delivered, against the good and chattels, land and tenements of Jared Palmer, Joseph Palmer, jun, and David Palmer, I shall expose to publick sale, at Clark's Inn, in Ballston-Spa, on the 31st day of August next, at 1 o'oclock P.M. all the right and title of the said Jared, Joseph and David, to the following lost of land, lying the town of Hadley, in the county of Saratoga, and bounded as follows, viz. On the east by the Hudson River, on the south by Charles Stewart, on the west by David Lawson, and on the north by Joel Dayton, containing one hundred and sixty-four acres, more or less.   from "History of Saratoga County, New York" by Nathanial Barlett Sylvester, 1878 History of Northumberland Joseph Palmer settled on the farm now owned by George Peck. He was a surveyor. Jared Palmer, for many years a town officer, was the son of Joseph. "from Baker Family Remembrances" by Ethel Baker CAPT. JOSEPH PALMER, father of Nicholas, was born at Stonington, Conn. in 1742. He was a Revolutionary War soldier, Captain 6th Co., 13th Reg't., Saratoga District. Joseph married Eunice, probably in Northumberland, Saratoga Co., N.Y. and they had six children - Jared, Anson, David, Joseph, Phoebe and NICHOLAS. He, Joseph, was a surveyor employed by the Hudson Bay Company. He received as a wedding gift from the Company any 100 acres of land he chose to survey out. Accordingly, he chose that much land and lived on it until his death in 1815. Many Indian relies have been found in these fields at different times and it is believed an Indian Village was located here. He died intestate and his wife Eunice - quote; "I, Eunice Palmer, widow of Joseph Palmer, late of Northumberland, who died intestate, renounce my right to administer on the goods etc., and pray that my sons Jared and Anson Palmer may be permitted to take letters of administration". - signed Eunice Palmer. Jared Palmer of Northumberland, duly sworn, says that his father Joseph Palmer, died intestate 1815. Jared, Anson, David and Joseph Palmer (sons) of Northumberland gave bonds of $2000.00 each for estate of Joseph Palmer. Jared and Anson took inventory July 3, 1815 in the year of our Lord and the 39th year of our independence. in 1800 census living next door is Jerard Palmer, Nicholas Palmer, William Copeland
