  from "The Niagara County News", 26 Sep 1884 (nyshistoricnewspapers.org) Mr. Omar Baker is very ill with heart disease. from "The Lockport Daily Journal" 29 Dec 1884 (fultonhistory.com) BAKER - At his late residence in the town of Cambria, Omar Baker, age 45 years, 10 months and 21 days. Funeral from the last residence, Wednesday, Dec. 21st, at 11 o'clock A.M from "The Lockport Daily Journal", 15 Jan 1885 (fultonhistory.com) In Cambria, on Dec. 28th, 1884 occured the death of Mr. Omar Baker. Mr. Baker was born in Cambria, Feb. 8th, 1839, and was consequently in the 46th year of his age. He spent his entire life on the farm where he died. He was highly esteemed and respected by all who knew him, and there was none to speak ill of him. He had held various positions of trust in his native town, and was always found faithful. His affection for his family, all of whom survive him, was peculiarly strong, and he was untiring in his efforts for their welfare. His constitution, never rugged, was undermined by disease of the heart, to which he was compelled at last to succumb. For four months he was confined to his room and a large part of the time his sufferings were intense. When a young man he consecrated himself to God's service, and his manhood was a Christian manhood, so that in the presence of death he could say and did say "I know in whom I have believed," and his end was peace.
