  from "The San Rafael Daily Independent Journal", 3 Aug 1960 (newspapers.com) Funeral services for Joseph P. Bowman, a resident of San Raphael's Loch Lomond, were held today at the Chapel of the Hills Mortuary in San Anselmo. Bowman, 59, died in a San Francisco hospital Monday after a long illness. He lived with his wife, Mrs. Dorothy E. Baumann at 66 Manderly Road. The couple owned and operated a mail order importing business called Bowman's. Bowman was a native of Illinois. He grew up in Platteville, Wis. In 1948, Bauman moved to McAllen Tex., where he lived until 1953 when he came to San Francisco. Two years ago he and his wife moved to Loch Lomond. He is survived by his wife. Burial was in the Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
