      MORRISTOWN NATIVE DIED IN GOUVERNEUR
      Gouverneur - George Palmer, 80, Park Street, died at 1 a.m. Thursday in the Van Duree Hospital, where he was taken a week ago with a broken hip. Mr. Palmer was born at Morristown Aug. 7, 1857, his parents being Kayton and Lucinda Green Palmer. He spent hearly all of his life in Gouverneur and was a carpenter and Mechanic for many years in the Gouverneur marble quarries. He had been retired for several years. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge, joining as charter member of the Brier Hill lodge. The survivors are one brother, Wilson H., and a sister, Mrs. Cora Ackerman, both of Ogdensburg. His wife, Mrs. Ida Krake Palmer died December, 1934. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. J.A. Schofield, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The lodge will have charge of the committal services at the grave in Riverside Cemetery.
