Many genealogies list additional children as (1) Samuel, (2) Paul and (3) Beulah (no birth dates not given). Not enough evidence to add them yet. Here is the status of those references:
(1) Samuel: Silas Baker suggests that Samuel Baker is the father of Joseph Baker of Bakersfield VT. Per Vermont Vital Records: Joseph Baker, age 79y 8m, born Templeton MA to Saml & Hannah Baker, died on 28 Sep 1867 in Bakerfield VT. The main problem here is that Thomas Baker is not associated with Templeton.
(2) Paul: A reference in the "DAR Patriot Index", 1966 states the following: "Paul BAKER: b. 2-17-1753 c. 10-14-1829 m Elizabeth Pinkham Pvt MA" His birthdate of 1753 is before the marriage of 1755. This individual is likely son of David & Thankful Baker of Barnstable MA.
(3) Beulah: No additional references found. However there is another daughter named Beulah born 29 Aug 1774. So, if this Beulah existed, she presumably died young.

Thomas Baker, son of Thomas, was born Sept. 28, 1771.

The Rev. Thomas Baker, Jr. was born September 28, 1771, at Groton, Massachusetts (although one account claims he was "a native of the Green Mountain State," i.e., Vermont). He married Jerusha Waldo on March 15, 1799, at Alstead, New Hampshire, and soon after became an itinerant Baptist minister, travelling throughout the Genesee region of western New York. At the time he made his purchase in Highland Township in 1836 he was apparently a resident of "Upper Canada" (i.e., modern Ontario). Following his arrival in Michigan he continued to preach throughout Oakland and Livingston counties. On April 14, 1838, he attended a meeting of Baptists in Livingston County which led to the founding of the Howell Baptist Church, in which he served as the first pastor. The Rev. Baker died on October 4, 1850; most likely in Highland Township (although one account erroneously says he died in 1845). His wife, Jerusha (Waldo) Baker, died January 16, 1851, at age 73 years, 6 months, 5 days. Their son, Royal Baker, was also an original Highland Township landowner.

ANSON W. BAKER, a farmer on section 7, Highland Township, is a son of Royal Baker, a son of the Rev. Thomas, a native of the Green Mountain State. To him and his good wife Jerusha Waldo were born four sons and four daughters. The Rev. Thomas Baker came to Michigan in 1838. Here he engaged in the work of the ministry, and traveled on foot for many weary miles and preached in various parts of Oakland County. His work in this county continued until his death in 1845. He was then a man of four-score years and his ministry had extended over forty years. In 1849 his wife followed him to the grave at the age of seventy-five years. In his early boyhood he had been left an orphan by the death of his father who was killed by the Indians. One of his uncles was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and drew a pension through the remainder of his life of $100 a year. He was shot in the arm and the bullet went through and landed in his cartridge box and he kept this interesting relic for many years.

Royal Baker, the father of our subject, was born in Vermont December 19, 1801. At an early day he emigrated to Massachusetts and then to New York where he was married, March 14, 1824, to Lorane Cronover. By this wife he had three daughters, Louisa, Mrs. Palmer; Jerusha, Mrs. Sigler, and Maria, Mrs. Hinkley. His second marriage was with Sarah Shaw. The wedding was celebrated February 8, 1831, in New York. To them were born the following children: Anson, our subject; Thomas F.; Emily J.; Edward; Larkin, and William H. In 1842 Mr. Baker came to Michigan and settled on the farm now owned by his son Anson. He now purchased forty-five acres. He had visited Michigan a number of times and had taken up two hundred and forty acres in Livingston, Shiawassee and Oakland Counties. All that is left in the family of the original purchase at the present date is forty-five acres. He was a shoemaker by trade and followed this calling most of his life. He lived at Rochester when there were only a few log houses there. Both he and his good wife were active members of the Baptist Church. He died April 10, 1853, and his wife followed him to the grave the following year, breathing her last August 16, 1854. He cleared one hundred acres of land. He was a Whig and took an active part in both politics and church matters, and in a word was one of the prominent men of his day.

Royal Baker, his paternal grandfather, came from Yates county, New York, to Oakland county, Michigan, in 1836, in territorial days. Settling in Highland township, he took up a tract of wild land in section eighteen, cleared and improved a farm, and lived to see the country roundabout well settled. He was quite successful in life, acquiring title to large tracts of land ere his death, which occurred on his homestead. His son, William Baker, of Grand Rapids, is the only one of his family now living.

Cheselton Baker, whose death occurred in Toledo Monday morning at 4:30, was one of the members of the old Adrian Guard, which was abandoned at the outbreak of the civil ware, in 1861. There will be a meeting of the remaining members of that company in Justice Vandegrift's office at 7 o'clock this evening to make arrangements to do honor to the memory of Mr. Baker at the burial service at Oakwood Wednesday forenoon at 11 o'clock.

CHESELTON BAKER
Cheselton Baker, whose death has been announced, was born in Auburn, N.Y., May 15, 1832, moving with his parents to Pittsford, Monroe county, when quite young. His father died with a few years after moving west, and Cheselton went to Lewiston, Niagara county, N.Y., where he worked on a farm for some time, subsequently learning the jeweler's trade. He lived in Hamilton, Canada, for some time after that, and in the spring of 1857 came to Michigan, settling in Jackson. That fall he went railroading for the Michigan Southern & Northern Indiana, now the Lake Shore, as a brakeman on a freight train, subsequently becoming a freight conductor between Toledo and White Pigeon. Then he was given a passenger run between Adrian and Detroit, and after that a through express run between Toledo and Chicago, which he continued until the Michigan division was changed between Toledo and Elkhart. He continued as conductor until 1877, at which time he abandoned railroading and occupied his time after that in farming, owning a find farm just west of the city, near the county house. He was one of the oldest conductors on the railroad and one of the many who made their headquarters in Adrain at that time. He was a genial, whole souled fellow, and was known all over the country. At the time, the Michigan Southern & Indiana was the main artery between New York and the west, so the conductors were know to everybody. Mr. Baker leaves a wife. Three children were born to them, Melvin, the oldest, Mrs. F.B. Hull and one daughter who died in infancy.

CHESELTON BAKER was born in Auburn, N. Y., May 15, 1832. He lived in Auburn for a few years, when his parents moved to Pittsford, Monroe county, where his father opened a jewelry store, but subsequently moved to Rochester and engaged in the same business, and carried it on until the cholera scourge of 1834, when he died. After the death of his father Cheselton went to Lewiston, Niagara county, where his mother owned a farm. Cheselton worked upon this farm for some time, but afterward he went to Hamilton, Canada, to learn the jeweler's trade with his uncle, Thomas Baker, but, after remaining in Hamilton for about two years, his uncle was burned out, losing most of his property. Cheselton then returned to Lewiston. He occupied his time on a farm for two years more, afterward lived about one year in Youngstown, Niagara county, and in the spring of 1857 he came to Michigan and first settled in Jackson and engaged in the harness business for about six months, when he sold out and came to Adrian. In the fall of 1857 he went to "railroading," in the employ of the Michigan Southern and Northern Indiana railroad, as a brakeman on a freight train. After acting as brakeman for about eighteen months he was promoted to conductor of extra freight trains, and after a short time was given a regular freight train between Toledo and White Pigeon. After about two years' service on the main line, air-1ine and the Detroit branch, he was given a "mixed train," which ran between Adrian and Detroit. After running that train for several years, he was given a through express train between Toledo and Chicago, which "run" he continued to hold until the Michigan division was established between Toledo and Elkhart. He continued as conductor until 1877, at which time he abandoned "railroading," and has occupied his time mostly since in farming. Cheselton Baker's father, Larkin Baker, was a native of Vermont. but when quite young moved to Monroe county, N. Y., with his father, who was a Baptist minister, stationed in or near Rochester. Mrs. Olive (Totten) Baker was born in Lewiston, Niagara county, N.Y. Her father was one of the first settlers of Niagara county, and purchased a large tract of land of the Holland company, four miles east of Lewiston. Mrs. Baker died in Jackson, Mich., in March, 1877. October 15, 1853, Cheselton Baker married Miss Mary Ann, daughter of Samuel and Lucy Haeslip, of Youngstown, Niagara county, N.Y., by whom he has had three children, as follows: Melvin Larkin, born in Youngstown, N.Y., August 2, 1855, now of Toledo, Ohio; he was married to Miss Ella Osborn, of Adrian, Mich., June 13, 1875; Clara, born in Adrian, October 13, 1858, was married to Lieut. F. B. Hull, now chief clerk of the L.S.&M.S. division superintendent's office, Toledo, Ohio; one daughter died in infancy. Mrs. Mary A. Baker was born in St. Catharines, Canada, November 12, 1836, and went to Lewiston, Niagara county, N.Y., with her parents in 1837. Her ancestors on her father's side were Irish and German. Her grandfather, John Haeslip, with two brothers, came from Ireland early in the eighteenth century, and settled on the Chippewa river in Canada, purchasing large tracts of land. A large number of the inhabitants of the village of Welland are descendants of John Haeslip and his brothers. Mrs. Baker's father first settled on a farm, which is now all within the limits of St. Catharines. He was a soldier in the British army in 1812, and participated in the battles of Lundy's Lane, Chippewa, Queenstown Heights, and Niagara. Mrs. Baker's mother was a daughter of John Barber, of Rutland, Vt. Mr. Barber went to Canada and settled near the present city of St. Catharines, establishing the first woolen mill in that part of the Province. Samuel Haeslip was born at Welland, Canada, in 1792, and died there in January, 1876. Mrs. Lucy (Barber) Haeslip was born in Rutland, Vt., in 1797, and died in Michigan City, Ind., in 1866.

Born at Penn Yan, New York, in 1824, Anson W. Baker was twelve years old when he came with his parents to Oakland county, and on the home farm, which was located three miles west of Clyde, grew to manhood. In his boyhood days schoolhouses, churches and costly residences were here unknown; and neither railways nor telegraph or telephone lines spanned these broad acres, few, if any, evidences of modern civilization [Begin Page 631] then existing. One of four brothers to inherit the parental homestead, he received as his share one hundred and twenty acres of timbered land, which he converted into a productive farm. Selling that, he subsequently bought out one of his brothers, becoming owner of that part of the old farm on which the house stood. He built a new house, added to the improvements previously begun, and there engaged in tilling the soil for many years. When ready to retire from active pursuits he removed to Clyde, where his death occurred at the age of seventy-six years. He married Julia A. Cowles, who is still living in Clyde, being now seventy-six years old. She has two sons, namely: Wilson W., with whom this sketch is chiefly concerned; and Winford L., of Los Angeles, California. The latter has been a railroad man all of his life, having formerly been associated with the Pere Marquette road, with office either in Detroit or Saginaw, and now being chief clerk for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company.

Larkin Baker, a lifelong and respected citizen of this township, died after a protracted illness at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leonard Jan. 5, 1901. The funeral services were held at the Congregational Church Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, Rev. T. Schermerhorn preaching from Ecc. 12:13-14. The services and burial were under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity of which he was a member, and which turned out in a large body and led the way to Highland Corners cemetery, where they consigned his remains to their final resting place. Larkin Baker was born in the town of Walworth, Monroe Co., NY., June 6, 1838, and came to Michigan with his parents in the spring of 1842. They settled in Highland, where Mr. Baker has since lived with the exception of the time spent
in the civil war. He was married to Emma Lewis, Dec. 31, 1805. To them were born twelve children, ten sons and two daughters. There are also twelve grandchildren, ten boys and two girls. Mrs. Baker died Feb, 7, 1888. The children all survive him, and were present at the funeral except Cash, who was confined to the house with sickness, George of California and Edwin of Philadelphia. Two brothers, Anson Baker of Clyde and Wm. Baker of Grand Rapids, only remain of this family of pioneers. Mr Baker enlisted Aug. 13, 1862, in the 22nd Michigan Infantry, Co. H, serving 2 years, 9 months and 14 days, and was discharged at the close of the war. When a boy of seventeen, he united with the Baptist Church of this township, many years he has attended regularly the services of the Congregational Church and last October became a member of it. Last July he was stricken with apoplexy and has been entirely helpless since that time. During the last nine months his home has been with his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Leonard, where he has been most tenderly card for through his long sickness.

YOLO, Yolo Co. - Major L. Baker, a resident of Yolo County since 1912, died today in his home. He had observed his 91st birthday anniversary Tuesday. Funeral plans are pending in the Draft Brothers Chapel in Woodland, Yolo County. Baker was a native of Michigan. He worked many years for the Southern Pacific Company and farmed eas of here. His wife, Bertha, died in 1959. Survivors include a sister in law, Lois Baker of Yolo, sand a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Perry, Mich., and the Knights Templar Commandery in Auburn, Placer County, and the Ben Ali Shrine Temple in Sacramento.

William H. Baker, court officer in Justice court, died at his home at 1020 Thomas-st., S.E., Tuesday, ending 27 years of county service. Baker, who was 74 years old, was a court officer for several years. He was elected constable of the old Tenth ward more than a quarter century ago and served in that capacity until his death. CARETAKER OF CITY TIMEPIECE IS DEAD
William H. Baker, who has been caretaker of the city clock for 17 years, died Sunday evening at his home, 812 May st. Mr. Baker was a jeweler. He was in business here for many years. He was better known for his watchfulness over the city timepiece. Friends and office holders at the city hall had named him "Father Time." He is survived by his widow and five children, Edward W. A former wife of C.H. Baker, deceased, who formerly lived in Lansing, but who now resides in Malin, Ore., has sent the following facts regarding Mr. Baker: Mr. Baker lived in Lansing many years. At the age of 20 he married Miss Jennie Read, daughter of R.R. Read of the auditor general's office. He was in the jewelry business with his father, E.W. Baker, they have their store in connection with Hitchcok & Co. in 1870. Mrs. and Mrs. Baker lived with the former's parents in the old family home on River st, where their son, Fred, was born. Later they moved to Williamston, Mich., where Mr. Baker engaged in the jewelry business for several years. Two other sons were born there, Frank L. and Charles H. Jr., and one daughter, Maude R., now Mrs. William Taylor, Jr., of Parry Sound, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Baker eventually moved to Seaforth, Ontario, where they engaged in the jewelry business again. Their son, Frank, had died while they were yet in Williamston, and Charles H., Jr., was drowned. Mr. Baker married Mary Atwood Smith in Canada. Byrl and Gladys Baker were born to them.

Reared to agricultural pursuits, Wilson W. Baker began life for himself as a tiller of the soil, buying a part of the old Baker homestead, which he managed successfully until 1893, when he embarked in the grain business at Clyde, buying out Willoughby & Wallace. Building a new elevator, Mr. Baker built up a substantial trade as a dealer in grain and farm produce, continuing until 1901, when he disposed of his elevator. He has since confined his operations to the trading in farm produce, some seasons shipping as many as ninety car loads of potatoes, in 1911, however, handling but sixty cars of potatoes. During his entire residence in Clyde, Mr. Baker has also been engaged in mercantile pursuits of a different nature, handling hardware of all kinds, agricultural implements, wire fencing and farmers' supplies of every description, his trade along this line being large and lucrative. For two years he likewise kept a general store in Clyde, his business operations having been varied. Although his business interests occupy the greater part of his time Mr. Baker occasionally visits his cottage at White Lake, where he takes much pleasure in fishing, and for the past thirteen years he has visited Northern Michigan each fall on a hunting expedition, and has in his house many trophies which tell of the good success he had on his trips. True to the political faith of his ancestors, Mr. Baker is a Republican. Fraternally he is a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Order of Masons, in which he has taken the Knights Templar degrees; of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, in which he has passed all the chairs, and has also served as a delegate to the Grand Lodge; and of the Woodmen of the World. Mr. Baker has been twice married. He married first, October 24, 1882, Bertha Clark of Livingston county. She died in 1900, leaving three children, namely: Raymond C., engaged in business at Salem, Oregon; Earl W., a professional ball player, belonging to the Louisville team, American Association; and Celia M., living at home. Mr. Baker married, second, July 3, 1901, Miss Edith Gordon, who was born in Oakland county, a daughter of Robert Gordon, formerly of Rose township, but now residing at Holly, and they have one child, Anson R. Baker.

Funeral services for Winfred L. Baker, 62, chief train crew manager for the Southern Pacific Co. here for many years, will be conducted tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Edwards Bros. Colonial Mortuary, 1000 Venice Blvd. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Baker died Sunday at Tuscon, Ariz., while there on business. He lived at 3939 Yosemite Way, Eagle Rock, and was an elder in the Eagle Rock Presbyterian Church. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Ethel Baker; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Temple, and a son, Warren D. Baker.

SHAFTSBURG, March 20 - Mrs. Alice Baker-Van Riper, 86, died Friday evening at the home of her son, Jay Van Riper, with whom she had made her home for the past several years. Alice Baker was born at Highland, Oakland county, March 16, 1858, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Baker and came to Woodhull when a small child. She was married to Andrew Van Riper in 1874 and to this union five children were born, Myron, Ernest, Jay, Archie and a daughter, Pearl. All died before her with the exception of the son with whom she made her home. Mrs. Van Riper had a very tragic life, her husband being killed while working in the woods years ago; Ernest was killed while working on the railroad and two sons, Archie and Myron met their death by automobile accidents and the only daughter, Pearl, died when a young woman. She also leaves eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clara Van Riper of Lansing. Mrs. Van Riper was a member of the Methodist church and years back was an ardent worker and from which funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the family lot in Oakplain cemetery, Shaftsburg, Reverend Oliver officiating

Will J. Baker, 78, of Route 3, Bellevue, a retired farm worker, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a local hospital where he had been a patient for less than four hours. Dr. Willard N. Funeral plans are pending in the Kraft Brothers Chapel in Woodland, Yolo County. Baker was a native of Michigan. He worked many years for the Southern Pacific Company in farmed east of here. His wife, Bertha, died in 1959. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lois Baker of Yolo, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Perry Mich., and the Knights Templar Commandery in Auburn, Placer County, and the Ben Ali Shrine Temple in Sacramento.

Baker, better known to his friends in the Auburn area as “Raisin” Baker, died at his home in Yolo, Yolo County on May 28. the deceased was a resident of the Auburn area for many years before moving to Yolo. He was a member of the Auburn Commandery of Knights Templar iand Delta chapter, Royal Arch Masons of Auburn. He was in compliance with one of his final requests that John H. The deceased had observed his 91st birthday on May 26th. A very pleasant gathering was held at the town hall Friday evening, Oct. 18, when about forty of the young people of this vicinity met to spend a few hours in sociability and to bid good-bye to Rollo and Seymour Baker who were about to take a trip to California where they will spend the winter with their older brother, George, at Rocklin. It is hoped that the change will be beneficial to Seymour, who was advised by his physician to seek a milder climate, for the winter at least, that he might regain his health. As a parting gift the young people presented Rollo with a traveler?s drinking cup of silver and to Seymour a gold watch chain was given.

The body of Seymour Baker, whose death was noted last week, arrived home Monday and the funeral service was held Tuesday from the home of Joseph Leonard at 10 o'clock from the Highland Station Congregational church at 10:30. The attendance at the service was unusually large. Seymour H. Baker was born in Highland Feb. 27, 1884. His short life was spent in the near vicinity of his birthplace. His illness dates from only three short months ago, when he was stricken with hemorrhage of the lungs. Hoping a change in climate would benefit him, he started for California on the 22nd of October last and went to the home of his brother George, where he died Dec. 9. In the early evening the angel of death quietly entered his room and called him to the heavenly home so quietly that there was not time to say a last good bye to the loving friends left behind. While it was feared by many that his illness would prove to be fatal, the sudden death came as a surprise and shock, even to those nearest to him. His circle of friends was large, and to them, his memory will be that of one of whom no one could speak ill. His loss will be deeply felt not only by his brothers and the sister-who has been to him a mother as well - but by a host of loving friends who sorrow for his untimely death. E.G.

Walter E. Baker, the young man who was taken to the U.B.A. home Friday afternoon because he was deranged, died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock very suddenly and unexpectedly. When taken to the home he seemed to become easier, and it was thought that he might recover with being sent to Kalamazoo. He began sinking at an early hour and died at 6 o'clock. He was a paperhanger and painter by trade, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of Imperial lodge, No. 427, Oddfellows, and was highly respected. His death falls with unusual weight upon his parents as his brother, Arthur M., became insane a month ago and was sent to the asylum. Young Baker's death was so unexpected that it was decided to hold a post mortem examination by Dr. Pressy, the attending physician. He found an abscess formed in each kidney caused the congestion on the brain. The condition of the brain caused his insanity and was immediate cause of his death. Imperial lodge will hold a meeting at 3 o'clock today to take actio on Mr. Baker's death.

Walter E. Baker died at the U.B.A. home Saturday morning. He was taken to the hospital Friday night, when he was delirious. Two weeks ago Arthur Baker, brother of the deceased, was taken to the asylum at Kalamazoo. It was first thought that Walter brooded over his brother's condition until he became deranged, but on making a post mortem examination Drs. Prossy, Edle and Fuller discovered that an abscess in each kidney cause death. The dead man was a member of Imperial lodge, number 427, I.O.O.F.

SAN ANGELO, Oct. 28 - Dr. Fred R. Baker, 76, a member of the original Texas State Board of Optometry and onetime president of the Texas Optometric Association, died here Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Dallas. Baker established the first optometry office here 46 years ago. Former Gov. Pat Neff named him a member of the first Texas State Board of Optometry. He served as president of the Texas Optometric Association from 1912 to 1916 and president of the Texas Optometry Board in 1922 and 1923. He was vice president of the American Optometric Association. Survivors include four daughters and a son.

Retired physics professor William M. Baker died of cancer Sunday, Oct. 14, 1995 at his home. He was 92. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit and completed post-degree word at U-D, the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. He was a professor of physics at the University of Detroit until he retired in 1973. He also was an award-winning photographer and a member of several orchestras. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emily; two daughters, Ann Emmet and Joan Hughes; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m today at the Spaulding & Curtin Funeral Home, 500 West Nine Mile Road, Ferndale. The Funeral will at 11 a.m. Monday at Gesu Church, 17204 Oak Drive in Detroit. The funeral of Private Burrill O. Baker, who died of appendicitis October 3 at the Ancona (Canal Zone) hospital, will be held Wednesday afternoon. Interment well be in Arlington Cemetery. Baker, who was 18 years old, was the son of Mrs. Rosina G. Baker and the late Edwin Baker. He was serving his first enlistment with the Tenth Signal Corps., United States Army, and was stationed at Corzal, Canal Zone. The deceased was a member of Excelsior Chapter, Order of De Molay, and was also a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Twenty-seventh and Cramer streets, where the funeral services will be held. The body arrived in Brooklyn, N.Y., on the army transport Cambria and was shipped to this city by express.

Raymond Lewis Baker, age 87 years, passed away early Saturday morning Jan. 19, 2008 at MidMichigan Stratford Village, Midland after a brief illness. He was born the son of the late John and Abigail (Smith) Baker May 11, 1920 in Sanford and had resided in this area most of his life. He graduated from Midland High School and went to work for Dow Chemical Co., Midland, retiring in 1982 after 44 years of service. He valiantly served his country as a captain in the Army Air Corps in the European Theatre and had become a P.O.W. and was a member of First Baptist Church, Bay City. On May 26, 1946 he married M. Christine Dallas and they cherished 62 years together. He was predeceased by one brother, Gerald. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 22, 2008 at First Baptist Church 1145 W. Center, Essexville. Rev. Kim H. Lewis will officiate, with military committal rites accorded by the Bay Area Veteran Council to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery Chapel. Ray's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 3-7 p.m. On Tuesday morning, Ray will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
