    • from "Artists in California, 1786-1940" by Edan Hughes,
      Rowena Watson was born in California on May 25, 1867. Raised on a farm in Napa, Watson was working as an artist in San Francisco in 1902-05. After the earthquake in 1906, she moved across the bay to Sausalito and by 1930 had returned to the farm in Napa. A spinster, she died there on Feb. 15, 1951.
