The students of the academic room of the Richburg union school together with the teachers and some of the young people of the village, to the number of 55, gave principal F.L. Peckham quite a surprise last Wednesday evening, it being his birthday. Soon after their arrival Misses Maud Jordan and Helen Woods presented Mr. Peckham with three very large and handsome volumes entitled \"Europe, India and England Issurstrated\"...

Among those present from out of town were, Misses Helen Woods and Maud Jordan of Richburg, Miss Francis Hearons of Bolivar, Messrs Charles Jaques of Buffalo, John Bell of Portville, Floyd Benjamin of Richburg, and Joseph Warren of Bolivar.
